For two days I got to watch Bill Kelly
and Crew of one, install A Geothermal Heating and Cooling System, plus another
professional to install a Pump, for the Earth Loop System. I missed the Outside
Loop System being installed, it was installed before I got to Indianapolis,
Indiana. I went to see the Colts beat the Jaguars in their season opener
game.
I got to Indy a few days early to visit my family and to relax, well
sort of. My Brother-in-Law explained to me what a Contractor was doing in
the grarage and appolidaged to
me and said they will be here for
acouple of days, and told me what they were doing. Sence I didn't have a clue
and a computer to look up on the internet what he was talking about, I did
what I haven't done much in a few years, Listen and
hold a real conversation instead of just saying I think it's going to rain or
snow today, and I got to get back to work.
you know the drill, some people are
boring. ( like me) . Now again if they were talking about their Computer messing
up, I would say bring it in and I would take it home and fix it.
thats the real me, I try to help people
with the talents that I have. OK lets get on with it I had my third cup of
coffee.
I was able to set down on a couch in
their garage and watch Bill Kelly and crew do their thing and listen to
Fred And Bill talk about the Geothermal System installation
( Note: Bill would of gotten done sooner
if I wasn't there and I'm sure Fred wished I would keep my mouth shut. But I
couldn't help myself, I got interested in what Bill was doing
and I like any school Kid, I would
ask questions, ) I tried watching T.V. that was in the grarage but most I
could get out of that thing was Six Weather channels that only showed
Indianapolis area., it was like Indiana was the world and nothing else existed.
So I watched and listened and I knew I was running my mouth to much. I began to
see the big picture after I read a brocure that one of the workers had in their
truck. now I was getting somewhere.
Kelly Heating & Air did what we use
to do in the Ship Yard he would use a Top down, Break down system to
accompilish their work::
That is:
Disconnect Electrical, Remove
Insulation and Mechanicaly disconnect the old units ,
Remove any parts that where to be reused, a
cost savings to both contractor and owner
Clean and repair or make reuseable parts
reuseable. .
Clean the area for the new
installation.
Install new equipment that may
not be accessable after Unit is installed.
Fabricate new Piping, Measure
and cut new electrical wiring,
Manufacture new Foundations for
the hot water heater and Geo System.
Clean and paint behind areas not
accessable after new installation ( owner) Fred.
Quality Control (Steve)
Me. (Fred watched like a hawk. To learn and verify that he was getting a
professional installation.

I didn't see but Fred did, can you believe a 71 year old man crawing under a
house, Fred did twice . and bill once or twice. Joe

to Lori about going to the Game.

Install the new Geothermal
foundation fabricated above, align it .
Install the New GeoThermal Unit.
(two parts)
Fabricate new Vent System that
attaches to existing Vent
Align it on the Foundation and
allow a few inches from wall and in this case a fire place chimmeny, and allow
room for electrical wiring and plumming.
Take and verify measurements for
new electrical wireing and Copper tubing etc.
Install new Fittings needed on
the existing Hot Water Heater.
Assemble the New Geo Unit
setting new dip swiches needed for control system.
Fabricate a new condensate drain
line from PVC.
Install the New Condensate drain
line. ( this was relocated later ).
Install new Loop system Pump And
make tubing connection and electrical wireing connectionss

Measure and Finish cutting
electrical wiring.
Measure and cut new Electrical
wire ( protection tubing) Conduit.
Assemble new switches and cable
connecters.
Run new Thermostat wiring if
required.
Remove old Thermostat and
Install new one (Honeywell)
Install Honeywell
Controller.
Connect Thermostat
wiring
Install new Tubing for Loop
system and Connect to Geothermal System.
Install new Vent system
Fabricated. (ducting)
Install new 100 amp circuit
breaker in main Circuit breaker box.
Make all connections electrical
and Tubing.
Verify connections with
equipment manual provided.
Test Run
Turn main power on
.
Set thermostat to custormers
desires 73 degrees in this case.
Check Geothermal System for
noise, sparks, burning, leaks etc.
Set down with Customer and ask
if he are she has any questions.
Ask for
Check.
Clean up remaining mess and
tools.
Load old equipment and trash in
trailer.
Say good bye and Call me if you
have a question or problem.
Thats it.

needs to get a new Business card that says " Expert at installing GeoThermal
Systems ".
Fred and I discussed the
installation and agreed The GeoThermal System looked great in his garage,
the best thing was, No noise, where was the noise, Bill must of
hid it. I hate to be redundant, but
When that baby started up the
first time it started up we couldn't believe
the noise level, there was
none, Fred and I checked the vents inside the house to verify the system was all
on
and we found Cool Air was just blasting out of them. Need I
say anymore.

Joe, Jessie and my Brother-in-Law Fred before I got to Indianapolis.

But I am from Evansville, Indiana. I been gone from Indiana
sence 1964, I served 21 years in the Navy. and
I can say, Fred didn't just
give his money away, Fred is like me he does a research on what he wan't
to invest in,
I bet he researched for a few weeks or months
before he decided to have the GeoThermal System installed.
Just a
regular Furnance cost's a arm and leg as most of you know ,
Electricity has gone up 18% this year or will go up the
first of the year in
Virginia.
Why did I make this web
page.
I never owned a new Car myself,
I always got a fix it up, and I won't pay over $2400.00 for one, my choice of a
car
would be a caddy and Fred's is a Harley. If I had a choice between a
brand new car and a Tranquility 27
I would take the
GeoThermal System like Bill installed.
A Car costs more money and
needs maintenance all the time, I don't sleep in a car.
and if anyone you
asked about methey would say I'm telling the
truth.
