Recently I was given a Radio Shack Karaoke Machine CAT NO. 32-1174 CD+Graphics Karaoke System with built in 7" TV.
The first problem consisted of a CDG player that keeps recycling in and out. with the power on of course.
The second problem consisted of the CD tray if recycled in and out with the power off and power cord unplugged the Red main power button light would cycle on and off, the faster you cycled the tray the brighter the light will be.

Let the fun begin
I thought I would look on the Internet for some help or maybe someone else's misfortune's, and I found that Radio Shack still had Manuals, Parts list etc.
I also saw where someone was selling one for $19.99, why bother?
I thought I would start off by reading the manual to see what the controls do, and verify that each knob and switch on the front and back are not sticking.
Everything appeared to be operational, except I did find a paper clip in the Tape player . Note:The Tape Player works, with or without the paper clip..
The CD-CDG Player re-Cycles as long as you have the power button on with or without a CD in the tray. I found  throughout the years Computer CD  players have problems ejecting the tray even with the Windows eject command.

I noticed that the electronics and boards had a lot of glue on them. This is normal, however the glue appears to have dried to the point when  the glue shrinks and if applied to a wire or other electronics it could loosen the soldered connection.
The image on the right with Red and Blue Circle shows the main power wiring that has been crimped, (Red). The blue Circle shows where the blue wire was crimped at. Click on the pictures for a larger image.
Digital images taken before disassembly help you to reassemble your project and helps during repairs.
I disassembled the Karaoke system, removing the system from the case and placing it in a cardboard box for safety and to see if the Main power light turns red when the CD-CDG is recycled in and out .
The main power button light does turn RED when Recycled while disconnected from the power supply. Video above.
I know this Karaoke worked for a few years, mostly during the Christmas Holidays at Oceana Commissary, The Cashier Manager during slow periods would have the young Chashiers sing xmas carols to the customers, for a few songs.
this made most customers happy but there is some old grouches out there that are just so unhappy with life.
This Karaoke was given to me because I like to fix things. They were going to throw it out anyway.
I haven't gotten around to fixing the Karaoke machine yet but I promise you I will.
I try not to replace parts like most business do, I try to fix  it if possible.
This Karaoke is a good machine when new and as you see in the pictures above looks like its been taken care of .
